All Ceylon Malay Political Union
The All Ceylon Malay Political Union (''Persekutuan Politics Melayu Lankapuri'') was a political party in Ceylon (present-day Sri Lanka). The party was founded in 1944 as the All Ceylon Malay Congress. The party sought to promote the rights of the Malay minority and gain parliamentary representation for the community.〔Ferguson, Alastair MacKenzie. ''(Ferguson's Ceylon Directory, Vol. 110 )''. Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited, 1968. p. 65〕 The party was led by M.P. Drahaman.〔''(Journal of the Pakistan Historical Society )'', Vol. 51, Eds. 3–4. Pakistan Historical Society., 2003. p. 50〕
During the British rule, the party argued that Malay's should be given a separate (from the Moors) parliamentary representation.〔Asad, M. N. ''(The Muslims of Sri Lanka Under the British Rule )''. New Delhi: Navrang, 1993. p. 101〕 The party supported the independence struggle in Indonesia.〔Nasution, Abdul Haris. ''(Sekitar perang kemerdekaan Indonesia: Diplomasi atau bertempur )''. DISJARAH-AD, dan Penerbit Angkasa, 1991. p. 52〕
The party leader M.P. Drahaman was appointed as Member of Parliament in 1956 (serving until 1959) and again in 1960.〔''(Parliaments of Ceylon )''. Associated Newspapers of Ceylon, 1960. p. 166〕
The All Ceylon Malay Political Union published a quarterly journal called ''Khabar Khabaran''.〔''(Koleksi Ismail Hussein )''. 1989. p. 63〕
